Increase your organization's productivity through a mindset shift.

Every day we hear some of the same expressions about the changes in the world, from the dynamism and speed with which the scenario changes, to how we should position ourselves in the face of it. The arguments vary little, and as much as when reading these expressions we have that feeling of agreement and even a certain comfort in thinking that we are aware of it, a hidden problem arises before us: What can we effectively do about it?

Unfortunately, the tendency is that we will fall into the trap of thinking that we need to change and then immediately do absolutely nothing about it. After all, we talked so much about it last year, we were forced o make so many changes, there were so many things to deal with at the same time. Do I still have to do more? When will we settle down again?

The truth is that we don't know. In fact, no one knows. Anyone who says they know is being naive or lying. If the scenario has changed so much all at once, with so many variables at play, how can we make any assumption of truth or certainty?

In this line, a very sensible stance came from a report by McKinsey, from June 2020, on emerging topics (note, these are not certainties) from which we paraphrase three important points here:

1. We must seek a balance between optimism and realism.

2. Medium and long-term scenarios vary considerably.

3. Innovation has never been more important.

Observing the scenario and taking these three aspects into consideration, Something that is very clear is the following:

More than small adjustments we have to make a change of mentality.

We have to stop looking at things the same way and change our perspective towards them.

A broad and complete review of our certainties, postures and behaviors.

This change of mindset, more than an urgent demand in our context, is the key to creating new ways of living and working that will be without undoubtedly more pleasurable, more humanized and more productive. Much of what we discussed as utopia (living in the countryside without sacrificing career, having more time for yourself and others) are a reality today.

And these changes have been possible thanks to, among other things, the digital aspect that permeates practically all human activities today. Therefore, this change in mindset is intrinsically linked to the adoption of digital in our lives, as an enabling element for new forms of work and also as a tool to allow these previously utopian scenarios to become reality.

Since 2017, this has been one of the focuses of the work developed by Clave Consultoria, which culminated in the development of our own Digital Mindset assessment tool, unprecedented on the market and based on the state of the art of science in this area. The tool analyzes some elements that make up the profile of a professional with Digital Mindset, how to be open to new technologies, be innovative and able to implement in practice the changes that digital brings.

Studies carried out using this tool have brought interesting data, such as the fact that only18% of the professionals analyzed are actually connected to a vision of the future that includes digital.

In Brazil, according to studies by Clave Consultoria, the strengths of our professionals are linked to thebehavioral elements and relational aspects of the Digital Mindset, such as the ability to connect talents, the inspiring attitude, the passion for technology and the digital strategy.

We still need to develop in terms ofdisruptive capacity, focus on digital solution, experimentation and agility.

However, with the changes caused since last year, we identified a positive change trend, with greater adoption of digital, but still slow in comparison with other countries. In this sense, we need to invest in the development of our Digital Mindset, as this is one of the ways that will provide better adaptation to the conditions new scenarios and make professionals and organizations more competitive and prepared for the future.

Changing mentality and adopting a more digital mindset are steps important to establish ourselves in a more positive, productive and happy in this new world that abruptly presented itself to us. From correctly targeted and grounded work, we can grow and develop to create a world of more connected, fairer and more humane work.
